Spring, jump and move across the floor with contemporary dance. This course is aimed at complete beginners and offers an introduction to contemporary dance in an encouraging and laid-back group setting, with opportunities for creative development of your own style. The live music by Oliver Davies will help inspire your movement throughout the class. Our expert teacher James Muller will guide you through the basics of core contemporary dance vocabularies and techniques. Cunningham technique emphasises the movement of the spine through curves, tilts, twists, and arches. Incorporation of Release technique encourages flowing movements that focus on breath. There will be opportunities to try out a range of contemporary dance skills from moving across the floor to simple springs and jumps. You will leave confident and ready to take your next step into contemporary dance.
